Killarney paddler and storyteller Mike Ranta outlined a 2,400 km expedition from Tuktoyaktuk to Yellowknife through the Mackenzie River corridor, accompanied by his dog, Spitziii. His proposed plan allowed approximately 100 days, with a daily paddling target of 24 km.
The expedition was conceived to raise awareness and support for Warrior Adventures Canada and its work with veterans and first responders living with PTSD. The route connects remote waterways and communities across the Northwest Territories.
Mike has worked at Killarney Mountain Lodge and created The Big Dipper, the large log paddle installed here. This page preserves the expedition announcement; it does not report a completed journey or a current location.
